The Essex Youth Orchestra (EYO) is for the more accomplished musician. You will need to be aged 16 upwards and have achieved grade 8 on an orchestra instrument. Entry into the EYO is by audition. The EYO has a busy schedule throughout the year with a residential course during the Easter and Christmas school holidays, as well as a main summer tour. The EYO also plays many local concerts throughout the year. Musicians in the EYO are expected to work hard but the emphasis is also on fun and young musicians will make friendships that will last well beyond your orchestral membership.
