Young people with special needs can take part within the timetable of regular classes wherever possible. A senior student teacher is allocated for one-to-one assistance within the class.
There is a regular timetable of special needs classes for all age groups. The classes include an introduction to the vocabulary of movement and encourage the creation of the student’s own work. Additional work with rhythm will be introduced along with elements of tap dancing. Examples of the classes include:
- movement classes where student teachers work on a one-to-one basis within a class, allowing participants to explore and develop movement
- soundbeam workshops, where a system of ultrasonic beams produce musical tones that alter as the body intercepts them.
For those who want to develop their skills further, performance opportunities are also available.
