Public art projects can take many forms.  Many examples are located within developments and form part of the built environment, while others are time specific, highlighting a particular event or aspect of the cultural life of the county.

Recent public art projects have been very successful. Genius Loci (meaning ‘Spirit of Place’) is a ground-breaking project that aims to deliver integrated, high impact public art works in new developments across Essex.  The Genius Loci publication details how to succeed in delivering public art in Essex.
