Foreign trade

Essex County Council is working to forge contacts with emerging markets worldwide, particularly in China and India, with a view to promoting Essex-based business abroad and attracting foreign companies to the county. In particular, the close links we have developed in the Jiangsu Province of China, through our office in Nanjing, have enabled companies from Essex to develop new opportunities in one of China’s most industrialised regions.

The International Trade team can provide services tailored to the individual requirements of companies, advising on funding sources and ensuring that opportunities to deliver business growth are maximised.

The Essex International website provides information for Essex companies looking to export goods and services to both China and India, from lists of resources for exporters to direct business support over the medium to long term.

In addition to the information contained on the Essex International website, gov.uk carries information about trade with other countries.

For other sources of information on developing your company’s foreign trade aspirations, visit the INVEST Essex website, call 01245 702480 or email contact@investessex.co.uk.
