Disclosure checks and business
Disclosure checks are already required for many professions involving contact with sensitive and/or personal information. Many accountancy firms, for example, now require employees to possess a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosure check.
Employers whose work brings employees into contact with sensitive information, children or vulnerable adults are required to ensure that those employees are in possession of a valid CRB clearance and should ensure that new employees are checked with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) to ensure they are not on a barred list. This can include employees at companies whose work brings them onto school grounds when children are on site. Similar rules apply when working at care homes, or with vulnerable adults.
