We offer apprenticeships across Essex for young people aged 16-18 and adults 19-24 and 25+.
Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes that lead to recognised qualifications and are designed around the needs of employers. They can be used to train young people new to the workplace as well as existing employees.
We are currently delivering two levels of apprenticeships:
Apprenticeships
Working towards a Level 2 work-based qualification. For example, a Level 2 NVQ Certificate, a relevant knowledge-based certificate and key skills in communication, application of number and ICT.
Advanced Apprenticeships
Working towards a level 3 work-based qualification. For example, a Level 3 NVQ Diploma, a relevant knowledge based certificate and key skills in communication, application of number and ICT.
The apprenticeships currently on offer are:
- Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration;
- Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Services
- intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care;
- Apprenticeship in Team Leading
- Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
- Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce.
Vocational Training Centre
In addition to apprenticeships we also offer an extensive range of training programmes to the business community of Essex through our Vocational Training Centre. These programmes cover all levels and include accredited and non-accredited courses.
The service is working with its partners to develop the workforce of the future and develop successful businesses and organisations within the local economy. We can provide programmes for employees in the following areas:
- Business and Administration (Levels 2, 3 and 4)
- Customer Service (Levels 2 and 3)
- Health and Social Care (Levels 2 and 3)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services
- Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (Levels 2 and 3)
- Support Work in School (Levels 2 and 3)
- Children and Young People's Workforce (Levels 2 and 3)
- Team Leading Level 2 and Management (Levels 3 and 5 and 7)
- Advice and Guidance
- Maths
- English.
We also offer an extensive range of training courses including:

- food safety
- health and safety
- skills for life
- IT
- business courses.
