The Minerals and Waste Planning team is responsible for determining planning applications for minerals and waste disposal sites, as well as for Essex County Council’s own development projects.
The team provides
application forms and guidance documentation for those interested in making a planning application for development in the areas outlined above. It also manages the entire
planning application process, ensuring that at all stages there is transparency in decision-making, and that all decisions are in line with the policies contained in the
Minerals and Waste Development Framework. Finally, the team is responsible for ensuring that the public are consulted throughout the planning application and policy development process, and that interested parties have their voices heard, in line with the undertakings made in the
Statement of Community Involvement.
