Essex County Council and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council are working together to develop a clear strategy to plan and manage waste until 2031.
This strategy will be contained in
The Waste Development Document, which will be adopted by both councils following a period of consultation. The public and stakeholders will be consulted to decide:
- What strategies should be developed
- How strategies should be implemented
- Where major waste sites should be located
The responses we receive will be used to determine future policy. Once consultation has taken place and decisions have been made, the completed WDD will be adopted and will become part of the Mineral and Waste Development Framework.
