About the Minerals Development Documents
The MDD is required by central Government to plan for a steady and adequate supply of minerals in Essex to meet the County’s current and future needs to 2028. Before producing a final document the MDD goes through a number of stages.
The Minerals Development Document Preferred Approach Paper was consulted on between the 9 December 2010 and 17 February 2011. The document set out the preferred strategy, criteria and sites to meet our mineral needs, and was developed after feedback from earlier consultations in 2005 and 2009.
Your views will help inform the next stage, the Submission document consultation, due to take place during 2012.
Thank you to everyone who took the opportunity to respond to the Minerals Development Document (MDD) preferred approach consultation. By its closing we had received around 2,500 responses.
Please be aware that where a petition has been received, this will appear under the name of the 'lead signatory' only, with the total number of signatories also shown. As with all responses, the petition will feature under each of the questions to which it relates.
