This scheme is intended to improve conditions for buses and other road users along the A13 between Basildon and Hadleigh. The scheme comprises a number of interlinked improvements, including high kerbs, electronic timetable information and bus shelters, which will link up with existing road improvements to deliver a high quality bus corridor between Basildon and Southend. The scheme has been subject to a number of public consultations, the most recent in May 2010.
Work has already started on the scheme, and residents directly affected by the improvements taking place will be notified where the improvements have a direct effect on access to their property. It is anticipated that the full scheme of works will be completed by March 2012.
Details of all of the improvements taking place as part of the scheme can be found in the first edition of the A13 Passenger Transport Corridor newsletter and the Scheme Public Exhibition Boards, which were developed as part of the May 2010 consultation. Additional information can be found in the latest project update.
The works are being carried out by Ringway on behalf of Essex County Council. Problems encountered during construction should be addressed to Ringway on 0845 2235519. You will be asked to leave a message and a contact phone number, and a representative from Ringway will return your call as soon as possible.
