Cuckoo Farm Park and Ride is set to be the first purpose-built park and ride in Colchester, and is due to be located to the north of the A12, at Cuckoo Farm.
Park and ride forms a key component of the transport strategy for Colchester, as set out in the Colchester Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy.
A series of public exhibitions on the scheme were held in Colchester during March 2010, providing opportunities for members of the public to comment on the scheme and talk to members of the project team.
The Planning Application for the scheme was submitted in early 2011.
The scheme was granted Planning Permission on 26th August 2011 and Essex County Council and Colchester Borough Council are now looking to secure the funding required to deliver the Park & Ride at the earliest opportunity.
