Southend area
As of 1 April 2013, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has made changes to the way in which it operates recycling centres at Stock Road, Southend, and Leigh Marshes, Leigh on Sea.
Previously, households from with the Essex County Council administrative area were able to use these facilities. However, as of 1 April:
Leigh March recycling centre will no longer be available to residents of the Essex County Council area.
Stock Road Recycling Centre will only be accessible to Essex County Council residents living in the towns and villages of Rochford, Gt Wakering, Little Wakering, Ashingdon, Hawkwell, Foulness, Stambridge, Canewdon, Paglesham and Barling.
Access is not available to residents living elsewhere in the Rochford Disitrct Council area or other areas. To gain access to the Stock Road recycling centre residents are required to take an original copy of either their driving licence or council tax bill.
In addition, it should be noted that:
- Commercial-type vehicles will not be permitted access to the sites at any time
- Trailers with a load bed over 3m long will not be permitted access at any time
