To prevent the use of our recycling centres for the disposal of commercial waste, the following vehicle restrictions are in place: 

Height barriers are in place to prevent large trade vehicles from entering the centres. The height of the barriers is 1.95m or 6ft 5in, which will allow most people-carriers and 4x4s into the centres. The height barriers are opened from 12 noon until closing time on Sundays (except West Mersea, which is closed on Sundays).

 

If you use a large vehicle to take household items to the recycling centre, you can either use the dedicated area to unload, or you can visit the site when the barriers are open.

 

Please note that it is the responsibility of the driver to be aware of the overall height of their vehicle before passing under the barriers. Vehicles may fit under the barrier going in but may not fit under on the way out.

 

All trailers carrying household waste will be admitted to the centres provided there is sufficient space. If the site is busy, you may be asked to wait until space is available, or return at a later time. At busy times, please see site staff for guidance.
