If you feel you may no longer be able to live independently there are a range of support options available.  These services include:

• respite care, short term breaks for you or your carer
  
• supported living, such as Extra Care schemes where you live in an independent tenancy but have someone onsite to provide care should you need it and other warden assisted accommodation schemes
  
• residential care, becoming a resident in a care home
  

Your needs can be assessed by Essex County Council to find out whether you are eligible for social care funding.
