Become a volunteer

We have over 70 trained members of the local community who take the lead in challenging young offenders to take responsibility for their actions and change their behaviour.  If you want to see less crime in your community, becoming a volunteer panellist may be the perfect opportunity to get actively involved.

What you need to know:

  • Just a few hours a month of your time can help make a difference to the lives of first time young offenders, their families and victims of crime;
  • No previous experience is necessary, just life experience, common sense and an interest in young people;
  • You should be over 18;
  • Training normally takes place on a Saturday and runs for 5 weeks;
  • Once the initial training is complete you will receive ongoing support.

To apply, please email cally.lewis@essex.gov.uk or call on 01245 265151.
