Reading Well Books on Prescription is a list of self-help books for adults recommended by health professionals. They cover issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks, stress, bulimia and sleep problems.

Reading Well for young people is a similar scheme aimed at young people aged 13 to 18. Chosen by teenagers and health experts the list contains a mixture of fiction and non-fiction titles and covers topics such as stress, anxiety, self-esteem, depression and body image.

Reading Well Books on Prescription for Dementia provide support and advice for people with dementia and their carers. Chosen by dementia healthcare experts, carer groups and people with dementia, the booklist contains information and advice, personal stories and support for relatives and carers.

In addition there is also a collection of Pictures to Share books which are reminiscence resources that people with dementia, their families and carers can look at together.

Reading Well is a national scheme, coordinated by The Reading Agency and supported by a wide range of health partners to help people manage their mental health, wellbeing and resilience using recommended reading.
