The Essex Libraries Business Information Service subscribes to a variety of information sources library members can use in the library or, in some cases, from their own computer.

- British Standards – current and historical British Standards to maintain best practice and ensure legal compliance
- COBRA – business opportunity profiles, information factsheets, market research and local area profiles.
- NEWSBANK– a comprehensive collection of over 70 local, national and international newspapers, including the Financial Times
