Essex Libraries Business Information Service subscribes to a variety of information sources that library members can use in the library or, in some cases, from their own computer.
 
Business information sources you can use from your own computer or in any library:
  • Kompass - worldwide business directories. 
  • British Standards - access current and historical standards. 
  • COBRA Complete Business Reference Advisor - business opportunities, business information factsheets, market research and local area profiles.
  • NEWSBANK - a comprehensive collection of local, national and international newspapers plus over 70 business journals.

Additional sources you can use in any library

  • Mint - business intelligence and company information which also offers the capability of preparing and downloading data you can use to send B2B mailing lists.
  • Keynote Market Reports – definitive market analysis information.
  • Datamonitor 360 – comprehensive business information source for enterprise, students and researchers.

HM Revenue & Customs offers a range of free services to help you understand your responsibilities and give you the confidence to get it right, first time. This might be especially useful for the newly self-employed and new employers.
