Action packed weekend at the Weald Country Show 2012

Essex County Council is delighted to announce the return of the Weald Country Park Country Show 2012; the popular Brentwood show returns for another year of fun-filled activities.
On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 June 2012, visitors to Weald Country Park will enjoy a host of exciting activities and demonstrations for all the family, with activities ranging from medieval battles with the medieval siege society re-enactment group to fun fairs, classic cars, vintage tractors, and children's entertainment.
For those that wish to stock up on fine local produce and crafts, the traditional country show will also offer great value and quality shopping. The more adventurous will be able to enjoy ‘have a go’ activities, such as archery, donkey rides, off-roading antics with the Land Rover club and inflatables.
An exciting array of displays awaits visitors, with the line up including exhibitions from the medieval siege society, kite-flying demonstration, a living history camp and the Billericay Dog Display team. For classic car enthusiasts their will be an array of cars and motorbikes on exhibition.
County Councillor Jeremy Lucas, Cabinet Member for Customer Services, Environment and Culture said: “The Weald Country Show is one of the highlights in Brentwood’s calendar and it won’t cost you a penny to attend. It’s brimming with fantastic things to see and do and promises to be a great day out for the whole family.”
Claire Mennim, Site Manger at Weald Country Park, said: “This year is set to be bigger and better. As always we have an exceptional line up for example traditional classic car show, kids activity area and living history camps. New for 2012 is our kite flying demonstration, where the kites will be wizzing high in the sky above Weald. The weekend is set to be our biggest event yet and we are excited to be showcasing the park and the event to local families”
Entry to the event is free, parking is £2.20 per car all day or £15 for a minibus/coach.
