Army and Navy traffic lights switched off after collision
30 August 2016
Chelmsford drivers are being warned to expect delays around the Army and Navy roundabout after a collision damaged the traffic lights.
The part-time lights, which help to control traffic flow during peak-times, have been switched off from all directions until further notice.
Residents are being warned to leave extra time for journeys over the coming days, especially during morning and evening peak times. The flyover will continue to operate as usual.
A spokesperson for Essex Highways said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to motorists as we try to fix these traffic lights.
“Extensive damage was caused to both the traffic lights and a crash barrier during this collision. It is vital we do a full and thorough repair job to ensure the safety of the public.”
