Digital success for Council e-news

29 April 2016

A quarter of Essex households have now subscribed to Essex County Council’s online ‘Keep me Posted’ service.

The free news and information service, which allows residents to sign up for free email news alerts and newsletters on topics of interest to them, has been running for a year and has just registered its 150,000 sign up.

Cllr David Finch, Leader of Essex County Council, said: “This is a great example of where we are looking to provide something in a cost effective way, and moving forward we will see the Council tapping into digital more and more.

“The Keep Me Posted service allows residents to sign up for useful news and information which is of specific interest to them, whether that be areas such as schools, job opportunities, highways, or events and activities happening across the county.

“I am delighted this service is proving so popular and I would urge anyone who is interested in finding out more to visit our website and register.”

Anyone signing up to Keep Me Posted can choose from 19 different e-newsletters. To sign up to the service visit www.essex.gov.uk and click on Keep Me Posted.
