Now in their second year, the Essex BIG Business Boost awards open for entry this Sunday, 1 May, 2016.
The awards are sponsored by Essex County Council’s Essex Innovation Programme (EIP) and Employment and Skills Unit.
The competition aims to identify the most exciting business ideas and individuals in Essex, offering business support for all entrants and cash prizes for the winners.
Five categories are open for applications:
- The Young Entrepreneur Award
- The Women in Business Award
- The Disability Entrepreneur Award (pre-start)
- The Personal Triumph Award (nomination only)
- The BIG Business Boost Award.
Cllr David Finch, Leader of Essex County Council, said: “The BIG Business Boost competition is an exciting way to uncover and celebrate the incredible talent Essex has to offer. All budding entrepreneurs and small businesses should enter the awards and help show that Essex Means Business!”

Entries for the awards close on 31 July and winners will be announced at a glamorous awards ceremony on 13 October at Pontlands Park Hotel, Chelmsford.
