The scheme will allow artists of all abilities a chance to devise a variety of activities and projects to contribute towards an outdoor performance programme called Sparks will Fly, a county-wide celebration of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, taking place from May until July 2012.
The projects could include devising participatory arts projects with local communities and designing eye-catching décor to bring a carnival atmosphere to Essex.
Successful grant applications have been received from many areas, but to ensure the entire county can take advantage of this opportunity we are keen to hear from artists looking to develop projects in Basildon, Brentwood, Epping, Maldon, Tendring and Uttlesford.

The Arts in Essex Small Grants Scheme, which supports hundreds of artists across the county, provides high-quality arts activities to the people of Essex.
