Family fun this February

Join the fun at Hadleigh Park this February half-term with special events and free activities for the whole family.
Children can make their very own colourful lanterns, explore the Iron Age Roundhouse or try their hand at kite making.

Home of the London 2012 Olympics mountain biking events, Hadleigh Park boasts a huge network of trails to suit all ages and abilities. Families can enjoy a bike ride around the park or one of the many idyllic walks with magnificent views and chance to discover a wide range of wildlife. 

The café has a range of seasonal offers and delicious treats to warm the whole family up after a day of adventure.
Events this February include:
Friday 12th February
Lantern Walk on Hadleigh Downs
Make a colourful lantern then join other families in a lantern-lit walk across the Olympic mountain bike venue.
5.30 p.m. £5 per child. Suitable for age 3+

Wednesday 17th February
Family Bike Ride
Run by Bike Art, the cycle shop/hire centre based at Hadleigh Park, this is a fun ride for families, taking in the beautiful landscape of the Hadleigh Downs and Thames estuary.
PRE-BOOKING ESSENTIAL: phone 01702 551076 (Booking opens 1st January)
Time: 2 p.m. (ride lasts around 2 – 3 hours)
Suitable for families with children aged 10+ (all children must be accompanied)
FREE if bringing your own bike
Helmets MUST be worn – “no helmet, no ride”
Please ensure your bike is in safe riding condition. Alternatively bike hire is available – please reserve a bike in advance by phoning 01702 551076
Thursday 18th February
Kite Making
Make your very own kite with the help of the rangers, then send it soaring over the downs.
Suitable for ages 4+
10 a.m. – 12 noon, start any time. £5 per kite

Sunday 21st February
Iron Age Roundhouse Open Afternoon
Explore our replica Iron Age roundhouse and learn how your ancestors lived 2000 years ago. Find out how charcoal was made – without it, there wouldn’t have been an Iron Age! Drop in event.
Drop in time 1 – 3.30 p.m.
