Free apprenticeship information and advice drop-in sessions are available to young people and their parents in Basildon and Brentwood during the summer holidays.
The sessions, organised by Essex County Council’s Apprenticeship Promotion and Brokerage Hub, will help students aged 16-19 get access to a large number of high quality apprenticeships available in the local area.
Trained careers advisors will be on hand to help with CV writing, interview preparation and next steps advice.
Cllr Kevin Bentley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Partnerships, said: “The competition for apprenticeships is very high so I encourage students to consider their post 16 and 18 options well ahead of their GCSE and A-Level results day. These drop-in sessions will help students get ahead of the game by getting their applications in front of employers now rather than waiting until after their results.”
The sessions will be held weekly at:
Brentwood Library, New Rd, Brentwood CM14 4BP 10am – 1pm
Tuesday 26 July and Tuesday 2, 9,16 and 23 August.
Basildon Youth Hub, 16-20 Southernhay, Basildon. SS14 1EL 10am – 1pm Friday 22 and 29 July and Friday 5, 12, 19 and 26 August.
