Work is due to begin on the Lower Castle Park footbridge replacement scheme in Colchester.
The scheme will replace the existing pedestrian river bridge with a wider bridge deck to accommodate a new shared footway/cycleway facility.
The work is due to begin 1 September 2016 and is anticipated to be completed by mid-December 2016.
Upon completion of the new bridge, the existing pedestrian footbridge is to be demolished and the area of park-land is to be reinstated. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times throughout the work.
The majority of work will be carried out under normal working from 8am to 5.30pm on week days and 8.30am to 12 noon on Saturdays.
