Drivers and parents are being reminded to allow extra time for journeys on Broomfield Road and Patching Hall Lane in Chelmsford as schools return after the summer holidays.
Road improvement works being carried out by Persimmon Homes are continuing, with a section of Patching Hall Lane currently closed to traffic from the junction with Broomfield Road.
Vehicles exiting Broomfield Road Parade are required to turn right into Patching Hall Lane and follow a short diversion.
The improvements to the junction are a planning condition set by Chelmsford City Council for the Persimmon Homes Saxon Gate Development.
The work aims to improve traffic flow by increasing the capacity of the B1008 and is due to finish by early November.
