This page specifically details the application procedure for applying to be on PTCC Transport Approved Operators List.
The procedure for becoming an Approved Operator for Passenger Transport contracts is designed to ensure safeguarding procedures are in place to protect children and vulnerable adults transported on these contracts.
To apply to become an Approved Operator and carry out transport on behalf of Essex County Council you need to complete the application process as explained below. Once the application is complete and you have received confirmation of your successful application, you will then be entitled to tender for Passenger Transport contracts. If you have not been approved by PTCC any tenders submitted will not be considered.
Approved Operators
If you are interested in applying to be on the Approved Operators List, you need to read the following information and complete the appropriate documentation. Please also provide copies of all licenses issued by either your local District Licensing Officer or regional Traffic Commissioner.
Once the relevant documents are complete, they should be emailed, faxed or posted to the
Contracts Management Team at Essex County Council. Please note: If these forms are not completed and the copies of the licenses are not received we will not process your application.
The application will then be considered and if appropriate, you will be called for a meeting (held at County Hall, Chelmsford). This will last approximately one hour and we will discuss our expectations and answer any questions you may have. The meeting will be conducted by two members of the Contracts Management Team.
If your application is successful, the Transport Co-ordination Centre Management will approve you/your company, and confirm your inclusion on the Essex County Council Approved Operators List. You will thereafter receive and be eligible to bid for Tenders.
Please note: Tenders will only be available online, it is therefore essential that you have access to a computer and the internet.
