Highway licences

All activities on the highway are controlled using licences. To place skips, scaffolding, builder's materials or hoardings on the highway, you will need to apply to us.

Please note: The main requirement for a skip, scaffolding or other structures licence is £5 million public liability insurance. Current proof of insurance must be provided and held on our records.  

A charge is made for consideration of any application for skip and scaffolding or other structures licence, irrespective of the outcome of the application. You can download an application via the licence page.
