  Electoral registration

15 August 2012

If you wish to vote in local or national elections your name must appear on the electoral register for the area where you live. The register is maintained by district and borough councils, and your name is not automatically added to it, even if you pay council tax and other utility bills.

To check to see whether your name is on the electoral register, to add or update your details, or to make other enquiries relating to the register or elections in general, contact your district or borough council.
