The Equality Framework for Local Government is a performance-improvement and benchmarking tool that supports local authorities to meet their public sector equality duties. The five areas of performance are:
- Knowing your community
- Place shaping, leadership, partnership and organisational commitment
- Community engagement and satisfaction
- Responsive services and customer care
- Modern and diverse workforce
There are three levels of achievement:
- Developing
- Achieving
- Excellent
The council is at the 'Achieving' level and has made a commitment to achieve ‘Excellent’. An
independent assessment in April 2011 set out our achievements and what need to do to be an 'Excellent' performing authority.
