Business continuity planning

17 December 2014

Business continuity planning, the creation and validation of a plan for how an organisation will recover and restore interrupted critical functions after a disaster or extended disruption, is an important consideration for any employer in particular a County Council.

Responding to the Civil Contingencies Act of 2004 Essex County Council has put in place business continuity plans detailing how the county council would react when faced with a serious disaster or major incident in the county and the possibility of serious civil disruption in the aftermath of a major event.

Essex County Council has worked with a number of other agencies and formal and informal working groups to share expertise in the development of these plans.

Business continuity is one of the subjects considered on the Essex Resilience Forum.
