Choosing a childcare provider

Essex County Council has a duty to provide enough childcare places for all working parents and those who are looking for employment. To find out more information on the free early education entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds and some 2 year olds see help paying for childcare.

There's a lot to think about when choosing childcare. It's important to allow as much time as possible to look for the best options to meet your family's needs. Some childcare providers have waiting lists, so make contact with those you're interested in as early as possible.
