Help us avoid an explosive summer

25 July 2016

Calling all campers and festival-goers! Are you cooking on gas this summer? Please think about the safety of staff who work in the waste industry when you dispose of any canisters or other dangerous waste.

Small camping gas canisters should not be put in the bin. You can take them to your nearest recycling centre and give them to a member of staff. When these are thrown in the bin, waste workers face the risk of fire and explosions at recycling plants in the county.

We all want a fun and safe summer so please dispose of any dangerous waste responsibly.

For more information on what to do with your dangerous waste and how to safely dispose of camping gas canisters, please visit the Recycle for Essex website.
