Our Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing team is a short term early intervention team made up of social workers, support workers and an employment specialist.

They work with people who are experiencing low level mental health problems such as anxiety and depression which are causing a social care need.

Helping you take back control

The service offers information and practical advice on accessing the most appropriate local services to enable you to become more independent.

Improve your mental health

They can work with you over a period of 3 to 6 months, or sooner, to enable you improve your mental health so you can achieve your goals. This could include finding ways to help you:

  • feel better
  • manage your mood
  • get out and about without feeling anxious or stressed
  • get back into work or education
  • access community services
  • meet new people

Eligibility

You can refer yourself if you:

  • live in Essex
  • are aged between 18 and 65
  • have mental health concerns
  • feel emotionally distressed
  • have a social care issue, or care for someone who does

If you look after someone with mental health problems, the team can help you explore the impact of your caring role and let you know what support may be available.
