Group ceremonies normally take place at County Hall in Chelmsford and last for roughly 40 minutes. You should arrive 45 minutes before your ceremony is due to start.
There are no fees for attending a group ceremony.
Details will be sent to you soon after you receive your letter of approval from the Home Office.
The ceremony includes speeches, the citizenship oath and pledge, presentation of certificates and a celebration with light refreshments.
If your children have been granted citizenship with you, they are welcome to attend, though they do not have to.
What to bring
You should bring your letter of invitation from the Home Office and some identification.
This could be a passport, driving licence or Home Office document.
Who can come
You can bring up to two guests to the ceremony. Children under the age of five are not permitted.Print this page
