The Essex Welfare Service

The Essex Welfare Service was set up in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

They help the most vulnerable people in Essex, who don't have the support of family, friends or neighbours. They put people in touch with local volunteers who can help with things like shopping, collecting medication and other essential tasks.

Anyone that is feeling isolated and in need of support can contact the Essex Welfare Service for specialist help with:

  • caring responsibilities
  • mental wellbeing
  • learning disability or autism
  • dementia care
  • sensory impairment
  • keeping physically active

Call: 0300 303 9988
Website: essexwelfareservice.org.uk

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm
Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 2pm

Support for the extremely vulnerable

Register for coronavirus support on GOV.UK if you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus. For example, you’ll be able to ask for help getting deliveries of essential supplies like food.
