Green Homes Grant

Make your home more energy efficient and save money on your bills using the Green Homes Grant.

The government will pay two-thirds of the costs of improvements up to a total value of £5,000.

You could get up to £10,000 towards costs if you receive certain benefits.

How to apply for the grant

To apply for the grant you'll need to:

  • check if you're eligible
  • decide which improvements are suitable for your home
  • get quotes from accredited tradespeople for the work
  • get estimates for the cost of your chosen home improvements

Work under the scheme must be done by 31st March 2022.

Register to become a Green Homes Grant installer

If you or your company install energy efficiency measures you could take advantage of additional business from the government’s Green Homes Grant.

You'll need to register your business with TrustMark before you sign up to the scheme.

You can register as a Green Homes Grant installer on gov.uk.

Once you've registered as a Green Homes Grant installer you'll be able to give quotes to your customers.

Once the customer has accepted the quotes, they can apply for their voucher. When this arrives, you can start work.

When the work is done and validated, you’ll be paid in 5 working days.
