Getting tested

If you have symptoms

Updated 13 October 2021

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, you must immediately self-isolate. Do not leave home until you get your test results, except to post a test kit or for a PCR test appointment.

New rules apply for people who live in the same household as you. Check if they must self-isolate.

How to book a PCR test

If you live in Essex and have symptoms you should book a PCR test on GOV.UK or call 119.

You can order a PCR test kit to be sent to your home or book an appointment at a walk-in or drive-through test site. The NHS provide us with locations on a weekly basis for the week ahead. Check current locations

If a test result is positive

If your test result is positive, you and members of your household will need to follow the self-isolation instructions on the NHS website.
