Care home staff urged to have first Covid-19 vaccine dose

Care home staff urged to have first Covid-19 vaccine dose

If you work in an Essex care home, you must have had your first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by Thursday 16 September. This includes any new and existing care workers, other staff, tradespeople, volunteers and visitors.

From 11 November 2021, anyone entering a care home in the county must be fully vaccinated by law. This means the last day you can have your first dose is 16 September.

Covid-19 infections are three times lower in double vaccinated people. Having the vaccine is now easier than ever in Essex and an appointment is not necessary. Vaccination centres and walk-in clinics are available in mid and south Essex, north east Essex and west Essex.

If you are worried about having the vaccine, please email Essex Wellbeing Service using provide.essexwellbeing@nhs.net or call 0300 303 9988. You will be able to discuss your concerns with a local GP.
