Green light for brownfield home funding in Chelmsford and Colchester
Essex County Council has been awarded more than £500,000 of government grant funding to support two housing schemes. The schemes are on brownfield land in Chelmsford and Colchester.
The first scheme is for Hargraves House in Chelmsford with plans for 10 homes and a new community centre.
The other scheme is for Lexden Springs in Colchester. Under the plans there will be 60 new affordable homes suitable for older people with extra care needs.
Both schemes are currently at pre-planning stage.
This latest funding boost builds on the significant success of securing funding in recent years. In March 2021, Essex Housing, supported partners across the county to secure over £2million of government funding.
