RideLondon is coming to Essex
RideLondon is back, bigger and better, from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 May 2022.
This year, riders can enjoy 3 traffic-free routes, starting in Central London and travelling through our beautiful county of Essex:
As well as the three ride challenges, Essex will also be hosting two stages of the RideLondon Classique, a three-day UCI Women’s WorldTour road race. From 27 to 28 May, some of the world’s greatest teams and riders travel through London and Essex. The riders and teams for the RideLondon Classique have now been announced!
This will be a fantastic event for participants, spectators, and the local community.
We’ll be updating this page with the latest news and developments.
To ensure a safe and smooth running of the event, road closures will be in place along the route. Interactive road closure maps can be found on RideLondon's website.
The main areas in Essex affected over the weekend are:
- Epping Forest
Extensive road closures will also be necessary in some parts of central London and east London. If you live, work or are travelling in these areas during this time, please read the routes and road closures information to help you plan ahead.
Travelling during RideLondon
RideLondon have produced community access plans to provide information about accessing your property and making essential journeys for residents and businesses along the event routes.
If you are travelling by bus, please check with your local bus operators for information on local bus routes.
Where to watch
Whether you’re supporting family or friends taking part, or just want to cheer on the riders, there are plenty of great places to spectate RideLondon.
