Distance and online learning
Distance learning is a way to learn new skills and complete courses online, so you don’t have to attend a college or university.
ACL Essex offers many courses which are available both in the classroom and online. Some courses are completely free.
ICS Learn offers a range of online training and qualifications to help you to develop your skills and further your education.
The Open University offers short courses, certificates and diplomas of higher education, and degree courses.
Free math courses
Multiply is a 3 year scheme offering free taster sessions, courses and formal qualifications in maths. The various courses are delivered across Essex and online.
Funding for courses
ACL Essex offers funding and course discounts. If your household earns less than £30,000 per year or you are on benefits, you may be entitled to financial assistance for course fees, travel, books, membership and childcare.
