Who to speak to if you think your child has SEND

Help is available if you think your child may have special educational needs.

If your child is not yet at school

If your child is not yet at nursery or school, you can talk to your doctor or health visitor for advice on what to do next.

If your child is at nursery, school or college

If your child is at nursery, you can speak to their teacher or key worker.

If your child is at school, you can speak to:

  • their teacher
  • the head teacher
  • the school's special needs co-ordinator (SENCO)
  • parent governor or the SEN governor

If your child is at college, you can speak to the person responsible for SEND.
