Local small businesses and entrepreneurs in Essex gained valuable advice and support when the Small Business Bus Tour pulled into Essex.

The Small Business Bus Tour which is part of Small Business Saturday UK (SBS) visited Maldon on Thursday 16th November. Experts from SBS offered insight to local small businesses and those interested in setting up and running a business.

A number of local businesses were there including three of the Small Business Saturday’s Top 100; Mandie Holgate, Business Coach, Secret Hamper and Evo Supplies.

Cllr Gagan Mohindra, Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Growth, BEST Growth Hub, Essex Innovation Programme, Superfast Essex and local businesses also attended the event.

Cllr Gagan Mohindra, said: “We are thrilled that the Small Business bus tour visited Maldon as part of its national tour to support local businesses. The day was a fantastic opportunity for local small businesses to showcase their work and for others to learn about business growth and gain valuable insight.

“I would encourage our residents to shop locally and support small businesses every day but in particular in the run up to Christmas and on Small Business Saturday which falls on Saturday 2nd December.

"Small businesses provide a huge contribution to the local economy and Essex County Council is committed to supporting them through continued investment in infrastructure, education and business support."

Nigel Richardson, Founder of Secret Hamper, said: “We are a unique small business and it’s fantastic to be in the Small Business Saturday’s Top 100 and to be recognised. Secret Hamper also supports up to 10 – 15 other local businesses by using their produce and it’s important to all help each other and keep it local.”
