Kinship care mission statement

Our mission is to champion and empower kinship families, ensuring that every child who cannot live with their parents is supported to thrive within the care of those who know and love them. We are committed to delivering a compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-informed assessment and support service that places children’s welfare and family relationships at the heart of everything we do.

Guided by the principles of the UK National Kinship Strategy 2023, we strive to:

  • promote stability, safety, and belonging for children through nurturing kinship placements
  • recognise and value the unique role of kinship carers as vital members of the child’s support network
  • provide timely, transparent, and strengths-based assessments that respect family dynamics and cultural identity
  • offer tailored support, training, and advocacy to kinship carers to build their confidence and capacity
  • amplify the voices of children and carers in shaping our services and policies.
  • work collaboratively across services to ensure holistic, joined-up care that meets the needs of the whole family

We believe that by investing in kinship care, we are investing in stronger families, resilient communities, and better outcomes for children.
