Dementia enabled communities

Essex has a number of Dementia Action Alliance groups who are working in local areas to drive dementia awareness and enable communities to be accessible and support people living with dementia. Dementia Action Alliances work with local groups, retailers and businesses to be more aware of issues people with dementia face and offer better services.

Dementia Champions throughout Essex deliver dementia awareness sessions via Dementia Friends.

Help find missing people with dementia

We are a partner in The Herbert Protocol. This is a way to help find loved ones who go missing.

It encourages carers, friends and relatives of people with dementia to compile information about their loved ones which could help authorities find them quicker in the event of them going missing. You can complete a form on the Herbert Protocol webpage on Essex Police website.
