Proud to be Me and separated migrant young people event

This event is for children in care, aged 8 to 17, that are also either:

  • black
  • asian
  • mixed heritage

This includes separated Migrant young people. Foster Carers and workers are highly encouraged to attend this learning and celebration event.

At the celebration event we will embrace all cultures and heritage. Activities may include:

  • obstacle course
  • aerial trekking
  • mountain biking
  • arts and crafts
  • food
  • football
  • cricket
  • haircuts and hair styling (we will make contact to arrange time slots closer to the event)
  • discussions about hair and skincare
  • music

The Proud to be Me event will be taking place on Tuesday 29 July, between 10am and 3pm.

Outdoor cinema

This event is for all children, young people and families who receive a service from adult social care. Children remain their parent, carer or worker's responsibility at all times. Children cannot attend without an adult

The outdoor cinema will be taking place at 7pm on:

  •  Wednesday 30 July, showing Despicable Me 4
  •  Thursday 31 July, showing Inside Out 2

There will be pre-film entertainment, such as bingo, before the film starts at sunset. We recommend bringing a chair or blanket to sit on whilst you watch the film. Wrap up warm because it does get chilly.

Food can be purchased on site. All children and young people who receive a service from social care will be given food tokens, but we do encourage people attending to bring their own picnics.
