We have announced a new loyalty reward scheme to boost businesses across Essex and help their recovery from the Covid pandemic.
The new support for businesses was announced at our Levelling Up rural Braintree launch event today (Friday 10th June) at Sible Hedingham Village Hall.
Braintree is one of the first of six areas which will see the introduction of the new Essex + reward scheme. This is a funded scheme which gives customers a loyalty card that can be used across participating businesses.
The scheme is part of our Ambitious Essex campaign, promoting business recovery and growth in the wake of the pandemic and is open to retail, hospitality, leisure, and cultural businesses.
It is currently in an introductory phase and is being rolled out to ECC’s six priority levelling up areas over the next 12 months. More information on our Levelling Up strategy is available at our website.
Benefits to businesses include a platform to show rewards and offers, up to date data on footfall, customer behaviour and buying trends and access to e-marketing tools.
Customers will receive loyalty points for shopping at local and independent businesses as well as access to exclusive discounts and incentives.
Cllr Lesley Wagland OBE, ECC Cabinet Member for Economic Renewal, Infrastructure and Planning, said: “Our work with Ambitious Essex not only promotes business recovery and growth in wake of the pandemic, it is also helps us meet our commitment to levelling up Essex and tackling the disparities that exist across the county.
“The scheme will help businesses across the county build better customer relationships, boost engagement, increase customer loyalty and ultimately, help increase sales.
“It is important to remember that this is not just an urban initiative but will also be of huge benefit to rural businesses and residents, as we look to strengthen local communities in that area.”
