Two national awards for Circular Economy team

Essex County Council's Circular Economy team received two national awards last week.

Our Circular Economy team (Love Essex and BLUEPRINT to a Circular Economy) have been recognised for their achievements with two national awards.

The team won the ‘Best Communications Campaign of the Year’ award at the national LARAC awards last week.

The award was in recognition of the team’s ‘Love Your Period’ campaign, which inspired residents to consider switching to reusable period products.

The second award the team took home was ‘Best Team of the Year’, which they won at the National Sustainability Awards the following evening.

Cllr Malcolm Buckley, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Waste Reduction and Recycling, said: “It’s fantastic to see our Circular Economy team being recognised for their hard work and excellent campaigns.

“Receiving not one, but two national awards is a real achievement for Essex and I’m proud that Essex is leading the way in inspiring residents to be more sustainable and reduce their waste.”
