Essex Registration Offices being refurbished

We are refurbishing and redecorating Registration Offices across Essex.

Virtually all Essex residents have or will use Registration Offices at some point in their lives. This could be to register a birth, a death or to give a notice of marriage or civil partnership.

We are investing in offices across Essex. This will see them undergo a face-lift, with new comfortable seating, improved technology and signage installed.

The Registration Offices being upgraded are:

  • Basildon
  • Benfleet
  • Billericay
  • Braintree
  • Brentwood
  • Chelmsford
  • Clacton
  • Colchester
  • Dunmow
  • Epping
  • Maldon
  • Rayleigh
  • Saffron Walden
  • Witham

Councillor Mark Durham, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for The Arts, Heritage and Culture, said:

This is a much-welcome programme of improvements that will bring real benefits to Essex residents.

The Registration Service is a hugely important service which is here to support residents at every stage of their lives and the offices they visit need to reflect that.

These upgrades will make the offices more welcoming and comfortable, which will in turn have a positive impact on both visitors and staff.
